With easy access to design tools (Aisyah et al., 2024), teachers can design engaging presentations, posters, and infographics, which can strengthen students' understanding of the subject matter. A study by Prabowo et al. (2022) emphasized that students who engaged with materials designed using Canva showed increased motivation and a better understanding of the topics being taught (Haanurat et al., 2024b). This shows that technology not only functions as a tool but also as a catalyst to increase creativity and innovation in teaching, as well as helping to create a more effective and enjoyable learning experience. 41 © The Authors 2024 Citra Reksi S, and Nahdiyah Dwi A 2.3 Utilization of Canva in Education Canva has become a very influential tool in education, especially in increasing student creativity and participation. This graphic design tool allows students to create various visual materials easily. According to a study conducted by Anderson (2019), the use of Canva in high schools can actually increase student creativity. With the ability to create attractive posters, infographics, and presentations, students become more motivated to participate in learning activities. This shows that visual tools can function as a motivator for students to be more active in the learning process. Furthermore, research by Lee and Kim (2020) found that Canva is very helpful in compiling interactive teaching materials at the college level. In today's digital era, learning is no longer only done conventionally, but more and more are turning to more interactive methods. Canva allows lecturers to create materials that are not only informative but also visually appealing. Thus, students become more engaged and are able to understand the concepts taught better. This shows the importance of digital tools in improving the quality of higher education. In Indonesia, the benefits of Canva are also beginning to be felt in the context of teacher training. Research by Putri et al. (2022) shows that training involving the use of Canva can improve teachers' skills in designing interesting learning materials. This is important because teachers who are skilled in using digital tools can create a more dynamic learning atmosphere, which in turn has a positive impact on student learning outcomes. In addition, Sari et al. (2021) highlighted the use of Canva in the elementary school curriculum, where students are taught to create simple visual materials that can improve their understanding of various topics. Visualization also plays a vital role in understanding information. For example, an infographic image showing the results of research on the use of Canva in schools can enhance our understanding of its impact. [Figure 1: Infographic on the impact of Canva in education] This image depicts statistics and key findings from various studies that have been conducted, showing that students who use Canva are more creative and engaged in their learning. Thus, it can be concluded that Canva is not just a design tool, but also an innovation that has a significant impact on the world of education. 2.4 Research Gap: Focus on NU Teachers In recent years, the use of technology in education has become a major focus, especially in the context of distance learning. Canva, as an intuitive graphic design platform, offers an attractive solution for educators, including Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) teachers. NU teachers, who are responsible not only for teaching science but also for instilling religious values, face unique challenges in delivering teaching materials. Thus, this literature review is expected to contribute to the development of more innovative and effective learning strategies and encourage further research on the use of digital tools in education. 3.1.2 Research Instruments The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) protocol is essential in systematic reviews and meta-analyses to improve transparency and accuracy in reporting health research. The protocol consists of four main interrelated stages: identification, screening, inclusion, and analysis. In the identification stage, researchers conduct a thorough literature search to find all studies relevant to the topic of interest. Next, in the screening stage, the articles found are screened based on specific criteria, such as title, abstract, and keywords, to determine initial relevance. This process helps reduce bias from inappropriate article selection so that only high-quality articles will proceed to the next stage. In the inclusion stage, researchers evaluate the screened articles in more depth, considering the studies' methodology, results, and overall quality. Only studies that meet the inclusion criteria will be included in the final analysis. Finally, in the analysis stage, researchers process data from the selected studies to draw valid and accountable conclusions. By following the PRISMA protocol, researchers can ensure their findings are based on solid and reliable evidence. Studies that follow the PRISMA guidelines tend to be of higher quality, as demonstrated in a study by Moher et al. (2010), which showed that using PRISMA significantly improved the quality of research reports. This protocol is not only beneficial for researchers but also for readers who are looking for credible and accurate information in the health field. 3.2 Data Collection Procedure Data collection is a crucial step in the study to explore Canva usage's influence on NU teachers’ creativity in distance learning. This will ensure that all teachers can get the most out of the tool, regardless of infrastructure limitations. 3. Further Research: Further empirical research is needed to explore the long-term impact of Canva usage on teacher creativity and student engagement. A detailed study of Canva’s adaptation in the context of Islamic values could also provide deeper insights. 4. Collaboration and Innovation: Teachers are encouraged to collaborate in creating innovative learning materials using Canva. This can enrich students' learning experience and improve the overall quality of teaching. With these steps, the use of Canva is expected to continue to improve the quality of education, especially for NU teachers who face challenges in distance learning. REFERENCES Aisyah, I.
